A fine panoramic view of the Hudson in a small package.  Most closely associated with the Old Lyme colony, and also known for his impressionistic views of the Hudson and New York City.  Charles Vezin began studying art at the age of 40, and at the age of 61 gave up his drygoods business to paint en plein air.  Born in Philadelphia, Vezin studied at the Art Students League with Frank DuMond, Wm. Merritt Chase, F. Luis Mora, George M. Bruestle, George Elmer Browne, John F. Carlson, and Helen Turner.  He served as president of several art associations including the Brooklyn Society of Artists, the Salmagundi Club and the Yonkers Art Association.  He exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy, the Corcoran, the Lyme Art Association, the Hudson Valley Art Association, and many more, winning many prizes.
