Listed in Who Was Who and in Petteys Dictionary of Women Artists, Barrett lived in Bedford, New York, then in Virginia.  She studied at the National Academy of Design, and exhibited at the American Watercolor Society, the Philadelphia Art Club, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
