A refined watercolor by an excellent Connecticut artist, a founder of the Silvermine artists' colony, and member of the National Academy. Hamilton Hamilton was born in England and studied in Paris. He came with his family to New York as a child and spent most of his life in Connecticut. He exhibited at the National Academy, the Brooklyn Art Association, the Pennsylvania Academy, the Boston Art Club, and the Art Institute of Chicago. After 1912 he settled in Norwalk, Connecticut.
