An evocative impressionistic landscape, possibly painted during Vreeland's time in France. Known as a California artist, Vreeland traveled extensively before settling in Los Angeles in 1920. Born in Nebraska, he studied in NYC at the Art Students League with Otto Beck and George Bridgman and in Paris at the Academie Julien. He exhibited at the Paris Exposition in 1910 and the Paris Salon in 1911. During the early 1900's he held a staff position at Rookwood Potteries in Cincinnati. In the 1920's he settled in Hollywood where he worked as a decorator and writer and was active in the California Art Club and the Artist Council of Los Angeles.
