Edward Loyal Field (1856 - 1914)

Three exquisite landscapes by Edward Loyal Field, late-nineteenth century landscape etcher and painter. Born in Illinois in 1856, he studied art in Paris at the Academie Julian and with Carolus-Duran, exhibiting at the Paris Salon. Field returned to the United States in 1882 where he lived and worked in New York City. A member of the Salmagundi Club, Field exhibited at the National Academy, the Boston Art Club, the Pennsylvania Academy, the Corcoran, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
