ON HOLD

A marvelous early 20th c. work by a well-listed American woman artist, offered for the first time from my private collection.  Emily Hatch studied at Shinnecock with William Merritt Chase, and also studied with Charles Hawthorne and Walter Shirlaw.  Born in Rhode Island, Hatch was active in many art clubs.  She exhibited at the National Academy, the Brooklyn Art Association, the Corcoran, the Art Institute of Chicago, and many more.  In 1940 Hatch became director of the Tarrytown Art Center.
